Founders:
Alle Bruggink. Consultant sustainability and technology, professor emeritus at Radboud University Nijmegen in Industrial Organic Chemistry. Formerly employed by DSM, among others as director Corporate Research Life Science Products. Has a broad view on developments in Asia from his DSM experiences. Has been consulted for over twenty years on development and implementation of national policies for sustainable technologies. Took the initiative for the transfer program Biobrug of Groningen State University. Former member of the Scientific and Technological Committee for the biobased economy (WTC).
Diederik van der Hoeven. Science journalist, worked as a teacher in secondary schools, with the Dutch branch of Friends of the Earth, and as an assistant professor in Science and Society. Worked as the director of policy studies at political party D66 and as a staff member to NS (Dutch Railways). For some time an independent consultant on innovative transport concepts. Since 2002 a free-lance science journalist, concentrating on sustainability, energy and biobased economy.
Paul Reinshagen. Science journalist, worked long ago at the Chemisch Weekblad (Dutch Chemical Weekly) and later as the editor-in-chief of De Ingenieur (The Engineer). Then 25 years active as a science journalist for many companies and universities. Convinced that the biobased economy may be the start to a sustainable society, and the basis of a new, green, small-scale and innovative economy.
Paul Reinshagen passed away in February 2016.
Herman van Wechem. Consultant sustainability and energy. Formerly employed by Shell as Global manager I&R of Shell Global Solutions. After that a member of many committees on sustainability and technology, among others as the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Dutch Polymer Institute and of BE-Basic, and member of the Supervisory Board of CatchBio. Former member of the Scientific and Technological Committee for the biobased economy (WTC).
